Names, Casting, and What-Not

Joey and I had some time throughout the day to discuss certain aspects of the project and share the individual work we've done. Here are some miscellaneous updates from today!

NAMES!

Presenting, our final name choices for major characters! I had called Joey up after school and put the pressure on us to just pick names on the spot. We decided to go for gender-neutral names because since we didn't exactly gender the characters, it would help avoid adding any gender binary quality to any of them.

CASTING!

We have 2/3 of the major characters cast!

This is Sophie Diebold, my wonderful classmate! She seemed like the logical choice because

1) She is a great human who I noticed had a knack for acting in her portfolio project last year!!

2) She has a sibling !!!! Look how cute!!!

After discussing with Sophie a bit about the third character, she said her brother may have a friend that can play that part.

As for extras, my family friend named Louis (currently in 7th grade) offered to bring some friends to have in the background! I'm not planning on having them in any major shots (especially because some of them may look much older than Sophie's brother who is in 5th) and we will shoot scenes with the two major characters much tighter. We will also be using audio techniques like diegetic sound to imply the presence of others.

LOCATION!

We have decided on the following locations for filming next week!

BIRTHDAY PARTY - MY HOUSE

PLACE THE CHILD STEALS THE TOY FROM - CVS/WALGREEN BY JOEY'S HOUSE

CHARLIE'S HOUSE - MY FRIEND SPENCER'S HOUSE
